Skana Adventures is owner operated by a veteran of the sound. James Spencer grew up combing the beaches and fishing locally. His training began under the tutelage of his father, Dr Andrew Spencer, a marine biologist who has been doing research out of Bamfield Marine Station for over 30 years. |

James has developed am extensive knowledge of the natural history of the area, and his local knowledge is enhanced with his own Biology degree. James views the Sound as his respected playground, and continues seek out the challenges and curiosities it has to offer. James has been surfing since 1995.(Surfing this area extensively for 2 years) and fishing the sound for over 25 years. |

Small Vessel Operators Proficiency 10 year veteran of surfing big waves on the west coast 10 years fishing experience in Barclay Sound
Jackson has had roots here living in the local deer group islands and has a nose for fishing hot spots and impressive local knowledge of artifacts and secret sights of the Sound. His extensive surfing experience makes him a natural captain for safe handling of the vessel on the exposed west coast.
